Unread and Waiting

If you would like to join in, click here.

Today's question: An idea I got from The Toddled Dredge (via K for Kat).

“Today I present to you an Unread Books Challenge. Give me the list or take a picture of all the books you have stacked on your bedside table, hidden under the bed or standing in your shelf – the books you have not read, but keep meaning to. The books that begin to weigh on your mind. The books that make you cover your ears in conversation and say, ‘No! Don’t give me another book to read! I can’t finish the ones I have!’ “

My Response:
Books are heavy! When we moved, I decided to be strong and give away boxes and boxes of books. Therefore, today's question is an easy one for me to answer. These few books on the top shelf of my office bookcase are waiting to be read.

This stack sitting just inside the front door are ready and waiting to be read. Notice the darling bookends that BJ sent me are holding them in place.

Here's the one I'm currently reading.

I've dramatically slowed down in my reading. Hey, something had to give!

How many books do you have calling out to you?

So nice you have a handle on things there!! I was just commiserating with someone yesterday about the fact that if we never bought another book in our lives, we would still have plenty to read!
My abridged list is up at The Burton Review.

Good morning Sally, I love your bookcase and book ends. I love the bicycle too. You have everything nicely organized. I have slowed down in my reading as well. Most likely for me it's the season. I don't understand how you can possibly keep up with all of the things you have been doing of late :>) I hope you have a great day ♥

Wish I could be that efficient at prioritizing my life. But the thought of parting with boxes full of books makes my knees go weak! Love the bookends, though.

I have finished only two books till date in July. To reach my target of 150 books, I gotta read 12-13 books a month!

Here is my BTT post!

Well, I'm pretty impressed that you do'nt have MORE. ANd it sounds like you've done a good job at passing books on!

LOVE the bookends. VERY cute!

Here's my post, if you get a chance:

Those book ends are adorable. I've been contemplating giving away some of my books, but I haven't quite brought myself to do it yet.

It would break my heart to give away my books. It really would.

The book-ends are lovely.

I have many books waiting to be read. This is a part of the downsizing that will break my heart. We have given away a couple of boxes so far. Easy ones. Ones we said immediately upon seeing, "donate". I will surely be posting about this in awhile.

I think I will ask for a Kindle, banish the thought, but how else can you minimize?
