Booking Through Thursday - New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year, everyone!

So, any Reading Resolutions? Say, specific books you plan to read? A plan to read more ____? Anything at all?

Name me at least ONE thing you’re looking forward to reading this year!

My Response:
I do have a special book that I've been salivating over. She's in a Better Place by Angela Hunt. It's the third in the Fairlawn trilogy. It releases in March. I have a copy, but I've put off reading it. It doesn't make sense to review a book that people can't purchase. The first two books in the series, Doesn't She Look Natural? and She Always Wore Red are excellent.

I've joined five reading challenges. You can find them here. I guess you could call that a resolution. I'd rather use the word, "decision."

How about you? What are you looking forward to reading?

I suppose my reading resolutions will be the same as in every year - to read, read and read! LOL.

Happy New Year, Sally! :)

Yes, I don't really like to call my plans "resolutions" either - makes it too official. And I'm pretty famous for changing my mind - a lot! Take care of your cold and try to have a Happy New Year in spite of it.

I have not heard of the series so I might have to look into it :) Happy New Year to you! Thanks for visiting my blog :)

I avoid the word "resolution", too!

My full answer is here.

I'm hosting a LibraryThing Author Challenge if you want to look at one more "decision" :)

Happy New Year!

Hi Sally, it was very kind of you to leave such a sweet comment on my blog. I feel very blessed for the reason I don't get a chance to read - and without wishing this time away - I am building up quite a stash of 'retirement chest books' to slowly enjoy when the rest of my life calms down (DV..):)

With all good wishes for 2009!

Resolution is never written on stone. I don’t want resolution to fetter my reading spontaneity. The rough sketch is that I should read more nonfiction this year.

My resolution is to read a wider variety. Happy New Year.

Sounds like an interesting trilogy, hope you enjoy the third.

Hi Sally! Thanks for your "get well" message! I hope you're feeling better too! I don't seem to have gotten it as bad as most so I'm just working the NyQuil out of my system now...

BTW: I'm very jealous of all of you who take part in these challenges. I read so slowly. But the more blogs I read, the more I think I might be able to do one or two of them.

Feel Better!

I still haven't read any Angela Hunt books, I'm going to have to rememdy that! Good luck with your challenges!

I've only recently discovered this site - so many books to read, I love it. I plan to read much more Christian fiction over the next year, and try some new authors. A standout read over New year was And the Shofar Blew by Francine Rivers. I'd never read her before but I couldn't the book down.

I have not joined any reading challenges...I do plan to reread some books that I have really enjoyed. Some of Susan Meissner's books are on my list to reread...as well as Mudhouse Sabbath by Lauren Winner and Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller.
